[PIS 2021] Textile and fashion industry bets the future on sustainable products

Textile and fashion industry bets the future on sustainable products

- ‘PIS 2021’ opens the playground for ‘sustainable sourcing’ in response to global  conscious consumption trend

As a result of a McKinsey survey of consumers in 2020, 66% of consumers said they consider sustainability when purchasing products. As consumers are interested in conscious consumption, which considers the social and environmental impact, global brands are focusing on developing 'sustainable' products.

In ‘Preview in Seoul (PIS) 2021’, which will be held as an on/off hybrid exhibition this year, you can meet sustainable material companies in one place. The online exhibition is scheduled to open at the end of July (www.previewinseoul.com), and the offline exhibition will be held at COEX Halls A and *E from September 1 (Wed) to 3 (Fri).

* '2021 Trend Fair' hosted by Korea Fashion Industry Association, co-hosted at COEX Hall E from 9.1 (Wed) to 9.2 (Thu)

If you want to take a meaningful step forward with sourcing of 'sustainable materials', which has now become a necessity rather than an option, pay attention to the following material companies. They are companies that meet the sustainable materials and production processes that consumers demand.

ㅇ HYOSUNG TNC : In 2008, it developed ‘Regen’, recycled polyester from PET bottles for the first time in Korea. Recently, its category of eco-friendly textiles has been expanded with ‘Mi Pan Regen Ocean’, recycled Nylon from fishing nets.

ㅇ DAECHUN CO., LTD : It gets OEKO-TEX and GOTS certifications every year for the production of eco-friendly products. Pursuing ODM production, it is collaborating with overseas design studios, and striving to increase digital printing to create high added value.

ㅇ SHINHAN : It is a leading outdoor material company with international competitiveness in functional products. It has obtained ‘Blue Sign’, one of the most stringent eco-friendly certifications in the world, to ensure that the product is safe from the production process to the consumer.

ㅇ ILSONG TEX CO.,LTD : It has obtained global recycling certification (GRS) & environmental management system certification (ISO 14001) and is striving to diversify eco-friendly materials. Quality improvement and fast delivery are possible through integrated work from yarn purchase, knitting dyeing, and inspection.

Meanwhile, as the growth momentum of the textile and fashion industry is expected due to the explosion of consumer sentiment along with the corona vaccination, buyers are expected to greatly expand their sourcing through the PIS exhibition, and more than 350 participating companies are expected to participate.

Buyers wishing to visit can enter the venue quickly and conveniently when registering in advance through the website (www.previewinseoul.com).
