PIS 2024 Set to Open with Record Participation and Attendance:

Showcasing Eco-Friendly Trends and Cutting-Edge AI Fashion Tech

□   The Korea Federation of Textile Industries (Chairman Byung-oh Choi) will host the "Preview in Seoul 2024" (PIS 2024) from Wednesday, August 21, to Friday, August 23, at COEX Hall A and B. This year's exhibition promises to be the largest in its history, with an impressive lineup of 576 domestic and international companies participating.

ㅇ  Amidst global economic challenges, including prolonged inflation and market contractions that have led to reduced scale and attendance at other major global textile and fashion exhibitions, PIS 2024 is defying the trend. The event is expected to draw a record number of visitors, reinforcing its position as a leading global exhibition with unparalleled growth.

ㅇ  PIS 2024 will feature 275 Korean companies, including prominent industry players such as Hyosung TNC, Young Textile Co., Ltd., Sealon Co., Ltd., and Fashion Group Hyungji Co., Ltd. The exhibition will also host 301 companies from 13 countries, including China, Taiwan, Turkey, India, and Pakistan, solidifying its status as a premier international event.

□   On the opening day, August 21, at 10:30 AM, the "Beyond the Wave" fashion show will take center stage, embodying the industry's resilience in overcoming global uncertainties and paradigm shifts. This promotional event will showcase fabrics from 52 participating companies, with designs created by rising designers ULKIN (Seong-dong Lee), RE RHEE (Junebok Rhee), and MAISON NICA (Monica Koh). This collaboration is anticipated to enhance the global marketing power of Korean materials, paving the way for further international expansion.

ㅇ  The exhibition has attracted significant interest from global buyers, with representatives from leading brands such as Burberry, Hugo Boss, Bottega Veneta, Alexander Wang, Ralph Lauren, Supreme, Lululemon, and Decathlon expected to attend, drawn by the high quality of Korean materials. Additionally, key domestic buyers, including those from E-Land World.LTD, LF Corp., Youngone Corperation, and Nobland, as well as purchasing teams from major distribution companies like Hyundai Department Store, have also registered.

ㅇ  PIS 2024 will be organized around four central themes: Sustainable (Eco-friendly), Splendid (High-Sensitivity), Superior (High-Functionality Advanced Materials), and Smart (Digital AI). The exhibition will offer a diverse array of products, including eco-friendly functional yarns, materials, accessories, fashion apparel, and textile machinery. Noteworthy participants include eco-friendly companies such as 119 Reo Co., Ltd., and JeClean Co, as well as certified sustainable companies like Koojoo Textile, and Greenwear Co., Ltd.

□    Visitors can also expect to see high-sensitivity materials presented by companies like Song I Textile Co., Ltd., YJ Global, and In2it Co., Ltd., each showcasing their unique post-processing technologies. In the high-functionality segment, companies such as Daewoong FNT, DuReam Co., Ltd., and Shinhan will present high-value-added functional materials designed for sports, outdoor activities, and workwear, featuring properties such as water resistance, quick-drying, lightweight, and antibacterial features.

ㅇ  A standout feature of this year’s exhibition will be the AI Fashion Tech Pavilion, where 19 companies will demonstrate the future of fashion through AI-driven design, virtual garments, and digital platforms. This pavilion is expected to provide insights into the future direction of the textile and fashion industry. Additionally, the Trend Forum Pavilion, themed "Beyond the Wave," will highlight the main materials of participating companies, utilizing digital media to emphasize their unique characteristics and captivating the audience’s attention.

□    In keeping with its commitment to sustainability, PIS 2024 will implement several eco-friendly initiatives, including the identification of eco-certified companies with an "Eco-Certified Company" label, the introduction of electronic directories and eco-friendly badges, and the use of recyclable exhibition booths.

ㅇ  A series of seminars will be held on August 21 and 22 in the COEX conference rooms, featuring 15 programs led by renowned textile and fashion experts. These seminars will cover topics such as the latest trend analysis, future strategies for the textile industry, advanced textile technologies, sustainable growth foundations, and case studies on digital transformation and innovation. Seminar registration is available through the Preview in Seoul website.

□  In addition, PIS 2024 will engage both major buyers and the general public with a variety of interactive events, including pre-event activities and on-site promotions via social media platforms.
